                2025 Fantasy Outlook

Gudas might be 35 years old, but that has not stopped him from playing his physical brand of hockey, finishing 2024-25 with the eighth-most hits (261) and ninth-most blocked shots (178) in the NHL. He added a dash of offense as well, recording a goal and 16 points in 81 games. He finished the year on Anaheim's top pairing, but the 13-year veteran likely won't reach the 20-point mark even if that continues into 2025-26. However, he should deliver hits and shot blocks in spades, especially if he continues to play close to 20 minutes per night. Likely won't play in Florida
Gudas (lower body) is not expected to be available for Tuesday's road matchup versus the Panthers, according to Derek Lee of The Hockey News.
				  ANALYSIS
Gudas will likely miss his second game of the season after sitting out Saturday's loss to the Lightning. Ian Moore will remain in a third-pairing role until Gudas is ready to return to the lineup. The 35-year-old's next chance to draw into the lineup will be Friday against Detroit.

Gudas arrived in Anaheim last season and immediately played a significant role for the rebuilding Ducks. He averaged 19:30 of ice time per game, his most since the 2015-16 season in Philadelphia. All told, he appeared in 61 games, managing six goals, 18 points and 232 hits. Gudas offers zero fantasy value in formats which value only scoring, but he's amongst the league leaders in hits every single season and is one of the few legitimate difference-makers in that category. If your pool doesn't value hits, look elsewhere on draft day.

				  Not talking extension yet
Gudas is not interested in beginning extension talks with the Ducks, Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports Tuesday.
				  ANALYSIS
Gudas has also recovered from a knee issue that he was able to address with rehabilitation over the offseason. The defenseman seems to be content to leave his future undetermined entering the final year of his current contract, though he could negotiate during the season. The Ducks also have other players to work on for now -- Mason McTavish remains unsigned as a restricted free agent, and five other players are set for RFA status next summer, leaving the 35-year-old Gudas not as high on the priority list.
