Wins $1 million with first-round TKO
Light HeavyweightPFL
March 29, 2020
Sordi defeated Jordan Johnson via TKO (punches) at 2:01 of Round 1 at the 2019 PFL Season Championships on Dec. 31, winning the light heavyweight tournament and taking home $1 million.
ANALYSIS
Sordi was the only technical betting underdog to emerge victorious on the evening, improving to 5-0 in the 2019 season along the way. He had to overcome some adversity, as he was taken down early and ate a stiff jab upon returning to his feet, but a straight right hand started the fight-ending sequence. A wobbled Johnson shot for the single leg, but Sordi reigned down punches and hammerfists with Johnson still hanging on. Eventually, Dan Miragliotta had no choice but to stop the action with Johnson no longer defending himself. At 29 years old, Sordi has bounced around multiple promotions including Bellator, and even made an appearance on Dana White's Contender Series. He could be a candidate to make a move down the road, but it may be a tough sell after taking home the $1 million prize.

Forced to submit at Bellator 166
Light HeavyweightPFL
December 2, 2016
Sordi lost to Gregory Babene via submission (guillotine choke) at 3:11 of round 1 at Bellator 166 on Friday in Thackerville, Okla.
ANALYSIS
Sordi was never really able to get going in this fight. He struggled to strike with Babene. Once the fight hit the ground, he appeared more confident. However, Babene countered his sweep attempt with a tight guillotine choke. Sordi tried to pass the guard to escape, but he was caught and had to tap. He is now 1-2 in Bellator after joining the promotion in 2014.
