Picks up win as underdog
Yoder defeated Miranda Granger via unanimous decision (30-26, 29-27, 29-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
One of the 29-27 scores was incorrectly read by ring announcer Bruce Buffer as 27-26. Regardless, the end result was the same. Yoder clearly won his fight but it's not as if she accomplished a whole heck of a lot. The two women engaged in a ground battle over the course of the first ten minutes in which both competitors failed to gain any ground on the other. Round 3 was a different story. Granger was visibly exhausted and Yoder -- who appeared fresh -- spent the entire round controlling her opponent on the mat. It was not a visually pleasing fight but Yoder got the victory she came for as a +155 underdog. Yoder has an excellent frame (5-foot-7) for the strawweight division but her ceiling will forever be limited by the lack of power in her hands. This victory is unlikely to be the start of an extended winning streak for the 33-year-old California native.

Victim of questionable decision
Yoder lost to Livinha Souza via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 27-30) at UFC 252 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Souza looked as good as could reasonably be expected given that she entered as a +175 underdog. In fact, she may very well have deserved to win. The was an extremely close fight, with the 30-27 score in favor of Souza being one of the worst you will ever see. Yoder didn't accomplish a whole lot offensively, but she did a pretty good job of limiting the Brazilian's opportunities. Yoder's greatest downfall has always been her inability to generate consistent offense. She has an excellent frame for the division (5-foot-7) and uses her size pretty well, but she has zero power in her hands and isn't particularly technical. Yoder has now dropped back-to-back fights on the heels of a brief two-fight winning streak. For her UFC career, Yoder is 2-5. She absolutely deserves another shot with the company given her reasonable effort on Saturday, but not much should be expected.

Gets an August booking
Yoder will take on Livinha Souza in a flyweight matchup at UFC 252 on August 15 in Las Vegas, Raphael Marinho of Combate reports.
ANALYSIS
Yoder, who is 2-4 to start her UFC run, last competed in October, dropping a split decision to Randa Markos. Souza is a younger prospect that is 2-1 with the company, coming off her second loss as a pro to Brianna Van Buren in July. Souza has been sidelined ever since due to a back injury.
