Set to fight Dudakova
StrawweightUFC
August 14, 2023
Frey will take on Viktoriia Dudakova in a strawweight fight at a UFC event on Oct. 21, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Frey has her next chance to turn her losing ways around, taking on the much more inexperienced Dudakova in October. Dudakova stands two-inches taller than Frey and also sports a two-inch reach advantage, which may cause Frey some trouble landing strikes. Frey has lost three straight fights, with her most recent loss coming at the hands of Elise Reed in June.

Struggles continue in Vegas
StrawweightUFC
June 3, 2023
Frey lost to Elise Reed via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC on ESPN 46 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's Frey's third straight loss, and in many ways, a more disappointing result than her 47-second knockout loss to Polyana Viana last November. Frey started quickly in this fight, landing two takedowns in the opening frame en route to winning the round. She struggled the rest of the way, consistently getting off second in all the striking exchanges between the two. Frey has really struggled offensively over the course of her near three years with the company, and tonight was no different. Now 2-5 under the UFC banner, the odds are against the 38-year-old Texan receiving another shot with the company.
Fighting Elise Reed
StrawweightUFC
March 23, 2023
Frey agreed to face Elise Reed at UFC's June 3 event, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Frey has lost her past two bouts and is coming off a defeat to Polyana Viana, in which she lasted just 47 seconds before being knocked out. Reed lost to Loma Lookboonmee in February and has alternated wins and losses since making her UFC debut in 2021.
Lasts 47 seconds in Vegas
StrawweightUFC
November 5, 2022
Frey lost to Polyana Viana via KO (punches) at 0:47 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This appeared to be a winnable fight for Frey on the heels of her controversial split decision loss to Vanessa Demopoulos this past June. It didn't turn out that way. She recklessly pushed forward not long after the opening bell rang and got clipped with a hard combination from Viana, who is most certainly not known for her power. Frey managed to remain standing for the first couple shots before dropping to the mat and getting finished off by her opponent. It was a good stoppage from referee Herb Dean. A former Atomweight (105 pounds) Champion with Invicta, Frey, now 37 years of age, has really struggled (2-4) with the move up to strawweight during her time with the UFC. There simply isn't much here.
Facing Viana in November
StrawweightUFC
October 4, 2022
Frey will take on Polyana Viana in a strawweight matchup at UFC Vegas 64 on Nov. 5, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Statistically, Frey sports lesser marks than Viana in most major striking and grappling categories, in addition to the fact that she'll be giving up two inches in height and reach. She'll still give herself a chance if she can avoid a submission, however, as Viana as picked up all three of her UFC wins via tapout. Frey, meanwhile, has only been submitted once in her seven professional losses. She'll be looking to get back in the win column after taking a tough-luck split decision to Vanessa Demopoulos in June.
Gets no help from judges in defeat
StrawweightUFC
June 26, 2022
Frey lost to Vanessa Demopoulos via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It took all of one fight for the first controversial decision of the evening to arise. The more technically proficient fighter on the feet, Frey did her best to remain calm and fight smart, but the recklessness of Demopoulous made that difficult. Frey faded a bit in Round 3 when her opponent racked up more than three minutes worth of control time, but most of those who watched the bout thought Frey was the more effective fighter over the course of the first ten minutes and should have taken a 29-28 decision. The 30-27 score for Demopoulous is indefensible. The loss snaps a brief two-fight winning streak for the 37-year-old former Invicta Atomweight Champion.
