Ramazan Emeev

Improves to 4-1 with UFC
July 25, 2020
Emeev defeated Niklas Stolze via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
Emeev leaned on his wrestling early and often to defeat the debuting Stolze. He attempted a whopping 12 takedowns over the course of the 15-minute bout. While only four of them actually connected, Emeev's constant pressure limited the striking opportunities for Stolze. It was a clear cut decision for a fighter in Emeev who entered as one of the biggest favorites on the card at -420. Emeev is now 4-1 in the UFC, with his only setback coming in his previous bout against Anthony Rocco Martin. The 33-year-old has struggled to finish fights, but he is officially a competitor to keep an eye on moving forward.

In steps Stolze, a 27-year-old German prospect riding a four-fight winning streak (three stoppages) on lesser circuits. Stolze, who trains at the famous SBG Ireland gym, will have a slight height advantage when the cage doors close. Other than that, however, Emeev's experience in the UFC (3-1 record) should likely lead him to enter as a betting favorite.
