Injury Lower Leg

Faces medical suspension
March 29, 2021
Young has been suspended six months by the Nevada Athletic Commission pending medical clearance for left tibia/fibula injuries, reports.
Young apparently suffered a lower leg injury during his loss to Omar Morales via unanimous decision at UFC 260 on Saturday. He'll undergo an X-ray to determine the severity of the issue. If the X-ray is positive, he'll be unable to fight for six months unless he's cleared by a doctor.

Falls at UFC 260
March 27, 2021
Young lost to Omar Morales via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 260 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
There were reports earlier in the week that Young would be forced to withdraw here due to COVID-19 protocols. He was ultimately cleared to fight, but found himself in neutral throughout the course of the bout. Young is a fighter that thrives on pressure and movement, and Morales made sure he couldn't play to those strengths. Young is just 27 years old, but has shown more bad than good during his time with the company. He did see the final bell against UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski in his UFC debut back in November 2017, but his career record with the company is just 2-3. There isn't much here.
Appears to be fighting
March 26, 2021
Young weighed in at 145.5 pounds for his scheduled UFC 260 matchup against Omar Morales.
Reports suggested earlier this week that Young would be forced to withdraw from this matchup due to COVID-19 protocol, but the featherweight fighter later disputed those claims in interviews that took place this week. It appears Young will now be fighting after all, and is listed as roughly a (+165) betting underdog as of Friday morning.
Won't be fighting next weekend
March 21, 2021
Young is withdrawing from his fight against Omar Morales at UFC 260 on March 27 due to COVID-19 protocols, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
This is the third fight the UFC has had to alter for next weekend due to COVID-19 protocols. Fortunately, they do plan on finding a replacement fighter for Morales before next Saturday but there hasn't been much speculation on who it could be. Young and his team will now have to quarantine and hopefully can get another fight booked later in the year.
Matched with Omar Morales
February 19, 2021
Young will take on Omar Morales at UFC 260 on March 27, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Young has a pair of wins and a pair of losses thus far in his UFC career. He most recently got knocked out in the second minute of his matchup against Ludovit Klein in September. Morales is also coming off a loss, having fallen by unanimous decision against Giga Chikadze in October.
Smashed at UFC 253
September 26, 2020
Young lost to L'udovit Klein via TKO (strikes) at 1:16 of Round 1 at UFC 253 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
Young didn't have to accept this fight after Klein missed weight by four pounds on Friday, but he did, and paid for it in terms of the end of a brief, two-fight winning streak. Young got popped with an early combination and was never able to recover. The 27-year-old New Zealand native is now 2-2 in the UFC, with his defeats coming against Klein, and current UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski. Young went the distance against Volkanovski back in November 2017.
