Cruises to win in UFC debut
BantamweightUFC
July 6, 2019
Avila defeated Pannie Kianzad via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-26, 30-26) at UFC 239 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was an easy, clear cut decision for Avila in her UFC debut, but it was far from a flawless performance. Her striking defense looked questionable, and she was unable to stop Kianzad despite having her in trouble on numerous occasions. Still, an 86-to-55 edge in total strikes landed department was more than enough for Avila to earn the victory in her maiden voyage with the UFC. She will need to be better her next time out.

Getting new opponent at UFC 239
BantamweightUFC
June 24, 2019
Avila (6-1-0) is scheduled to face Pannie Kianzad (11-4-0) in a bantamweight fight July 6 at UFC 239 in Las Vegas after Melissa Gatto (undisclosed) withdrew from the bout, Nolan King and Mike Bohn of MMAJunkie.com report.
ANALYSIS
Like Gatto, Avila was set to make her UFC debut, but she'll now draw a more experienced opponent in Kianzad, an alum of "The Ultimate Fighter 28." Avila last fought with the Invicta FC promotion in November, when she defeated Alexa Conners in two rounds.
Scheduled for first fight

Avila is scheduled to fight Melissa Gatto at UFC 239 in Las Vegas on July 6, Nolan King of Flocombat reports.
ANALYSIS
The "Raging Panda" signed with UFC in March and is now set for her first fight against another newcomer in Gatto. Avila already holds victories over proven fighters, like former inaugural flyweight champion Nicco Montano, over her seven-year pro career and should have no problem making it a debut worth watching.
