Falls as massive favorite
September 12, 2020
Roberts lost to Kevin Croom via submission (guillotine choke) at 0:31 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
What a disaster. Coming off a submission loss to Jim Miller in June and facing an opponent making his UFC debut as a (+450) underdog, Roberts lasted all of 31 seconds. Roberts has gotten some publicity as a potential sleeper at lightweight, but his results with the company have been extremely inconsistent. His record with the UFC is barely over .500 (4-3), and he's trending in the wrong direction. Roberts has both size (6-foot-1) and youth (26 years old) on his side, but this was a clear step backwards for the California native.

New opponent on tap
September 11, 2020
Roberts will square off against Kevin Croom after Matt Frevola was removed from the card Friday, Mike Heck of reports.
No reason was given for Frevola's removal from the card, but Croom was ready and waiting in the wings for the opportunity. Roberts was a slight favorite to win against Frevola but seems likely to be a larger favorite over Croom.
Facing Frevola in September
August 10, 2020
Roberts is slated to face Matt Frevola in a lightweight fight in the UFC event set for Sept. 12 in Las Vegas, Marcel Dorff of reports.
Roberts will be making his first appearance in the Octagon since June, when he lost to Jim Miller via submission. Prior to that loss, Roberts had claimed back-to-back victories, winning via unanimous decision over Alexander Yakovlev in November 2019 and submitting Brok Weaver in the second round May 30.
Facing six-month medical ban
June 23, 2020
The Nevada State Athletic Commission handed Roberts a six-month medical suspension Tuesday after he sustained a left elbow injury in his armbar submission loss to Jim Miller over the weekend at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Damon Martin of reports.
Roberts is slated to undergo an MRI and X-ray on the elbow in the near future. If his doctor determines that Roberts sustained any structural damage, the 26-year-old will be banned from competition until Dec. 18, unless he receives full medical clearance before that date. Roberts own a 4-2 UFC record since debuting with the promotion in November 2018.
Taps out to Jim Miller
June 20, 2020
Roberts lost to Jim Miller via submission (Armbar) at 2:25 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Roberts got a bit unlucky here in his second fight in three weeks. He appeared to slip just seconds into the fight and before he knew it, Miller was on top of him. He was never able to recover. Roberts was blessed with a significant size, striking, and power edge on Miller, but he never got to employ any of those advantages. The 26-year-old California native should be back in short order. Roberts is now 4-2 in his first half-dozen UFC bouts.
Fighting for second time 3 weeks
June 9, 2020
Roberts will take on Jim Miller in a lightweight matchup at UFC Apex in Las Vegas on June 20, reports.
Roberts submitted Brok Weaver back on May 30 which moved his UFC record to 4-1. He will be facing Jim Miller, who has not fought since a unanimous decision defeat to Scott Holtzman in February. Look for Roberts to enter this matchup as a heavy favorite due to his status as a top prospect, especially considering Miller is a grizzled vet likely on the last stage of his career.
