Books matchup with Alan Baudot
February 28, 2021
Nascimento (face) is slated to face Alan Baudot in a heavyweight fight at the UFC's May 22 event, Marcel Dorff of reports.
Nascimento (8-1-0) is currently in the midst of a 180-day medical suspension stemming from the facial injuries he suffered in his October loss to Chris Daukaus on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, but he'll be back to full health by the time May arrives. Much like Nascimento, Baudot (8-2-0) will also be returning to the Octagon looking to avenge a loss, as he bowed out in the first round versus Tom Aspinall on that same Abu Dhabi card.

Facing extended absence
October 13, 2020
Nascimento is facing a potential 180-day medical suspension pending clearance from an ophthalmologist, reports.
Nascimento was able to hang tough for a bit after taking a few big shots from Chris Daukaus, but his overall lack of defense ultimately proved costly, and the referee was forced to call the bout after less than a minute of action. To add insult to injury, Nascimento may have to wait some time before getting a chance to bounce back due to what appeared to be facial injuries.
Finished in first pro loss
October 10, 2020
Nascimento lost to Chris Daukaus via KO (punches) at 0:45 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
What a disaster. Entering as a -235 favorite and coming off an impressive submission win over Don'Tale Mayes in his company debut in May, Nascimento ate one right hand from Daukaus and was never able to recover. A submission specialist by trade, this is the first loss of Nascimento's professional career. The soon-to-be 28-year-old figures to be back in relatively short order. He needs a rebound effort in that one.
Taking on Daukaus in October

Nascimento will be making his fist start in the octagon since mid-May when he defeated Don'Tale Mayes in his debut. It brought his MMA career record to a perfect 8-0.
Submission win in UFC debut
May 16, 2020
Nascimento defeated Don'Tale Mayes via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:05 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Jacksonville.
Making his UFC debut, Nascimento made a concerted effort to try to take advantage of his opposition's greatest weakness. It worked. Recognizing Mayes' inability to compete on the mat, Nascimento went out of his way to try to drag this fight to the ground. He was eventually able to do so in the early stages of Round 2, and the submission quickly followed. A win over Mayes tells us less than nothing regarding Nascimento's future potential, but the Brazilian has the reputation of being a strong mat specialist, and that was on full display on Saturday.
New date for debut
April 30, 2020
Nascimento will now take on Don'Tale Mayes at a UFC Fight Night event in Jacksonville on May 16, Raphael Marinho of Combate reports.
Nascimento is an undefeated, 27-year-old prospect who earned a UFC contract via Dana White's Contender series last July. He was supposed to debut against Mayes at UFC Portland on April 11, but that turned out to be one of several events canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nascimento has earned five of his seven pro victories via submission, and will draw an opponent in Mayes who was submitted for the first time in his career by Ciryl Gane last October. It wasn't necessarily poor submission defense that led to this loss, however, as Gane had out-worked Mayes on the feet for the better part of three rounds before setting up a heel hook in the closing moments of the bout.
