Gooden defeated Niklas Stolze via TKO (punches) at 1:08 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 28 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Gooden ends up with his first UFC win in the craziest of circumstances. This fight was cancelled as recently as Saturday morning due to an apparent breach of COVID-19 protocol, but the two men ultimately got the approval to go ahead, and Gooden responded with a right hand to Stolze's face that connected and led to the stoppage. Gooden didn't look good in his first two bouts with the company, but tonight was a different story entirely. We'll see if he can continue the momentum his next time out.

Struggles continue in Vegas

Gooden lost to Abubakar Nurmagomedov via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 260 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Two fights into his UFC career, Gooden has yet to win a round on the judges scorecards. He didn't come close on Saturday, essentially being dominated by Nurmagomedov from bell to bell. Gooden displayed a fairly well-rounded skill set on the regional circuit, but he had never fought anyone of note prior to his UFC arrival back in November of last year and he has really been exposed against a higher level of competition. There is no real reason to expect improvement from Gooden moving forward and it's far from a guarantee he gets a third shot with the company following his poor efforts in his first two opportunities.
