Jacob Malkoun

Dominates Abdul Razak Alhassan
April 17, 2021
Malkoun defeated Abdul Razak Alhassan via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
It was quite the rebound effort from Malkoun on the heels of his 18-second knockout loss to Phil Hawes in his company debut last October. Recognizing his massive edge in the grappling game over Alhassan, Malkoun sold out to drag his opponent to the mat at all costs. It worked. This result likely says more about where Alhassan is at this point that Malkoun, but Malkoun deserves full marks for recognizing a massive flaw in his opposition and taking full advantage. The 25-year-old Aussie has just a half dozen professional fights under his belt.

Books matchup with Alhassan
March 31, 2021
Malkoun (4-1-0) is scheduled to face Abdul Razak Alhassan (10-3-0) in a middleweight fight April 17 in Las Vegas at UFC on ESPN 22, USA Today reports.
Malkoun will be making his second appearance in the Octagon after falling in his promotional debut to Phil Hawes via first-round knockout at UFC 254 in October. Alhassan, meanwhile, has lost his last two bouts while fighting in the welterweight ranks, so he'll be moving up a weight class as he looks to regain some momentum.
Blitzed in UFC debut
October 24, 2020
Malkoun lost to Phil Hawes via KO (punches) at 0:18 of Round 1 at UFC 254 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
Entering with an undefeated 4-0 professional record, Malkoun's UFC debut could not have gone any worse. He appeared to eat a shot behind the ear before Hawes forced him up against the fence and unloaded. Referee Jason Herzog gave Malkoun time to recover, but it clearly wasn't happening. It's rare for a debuting fighter to not receive a second opportunity with the company, but Malkoun could be an exception to the rule following this effort.
