Kevin Croom
The Hard Hitting Hillbilly

Routed by Alex Caceres
February 27, 2021
Croom lost to Alex Caceres via unanimous decision (26-30, 26-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
James Krause and the guys in Kansas City do an excellent job of preparing their fighters for battle, which makes one think Croom's baffling and poorly-executed game plan was his own doing. Croom spent the entirety of the first two rounds attempting every possible takedown he could. They were virtually all poorly timed and just a single one landed. Croom almost certainly would have continued the process into the final frame, but was so exhausted from the first ten minutes that he was unable to do much of anything in Round 3. No one could have seen this coming given the fact our previous exposure to Croom was a 31-second submission win over Roosevelt Roberts in his company debut this past September.

Set to return against Alex Caceres
December 28, 2020
Croom will return from his suspension to face Alex Caceres on Feb. 27, Marcel Dorff of reports.
Croom submitted Roosevelt Roberts 31 seconds into his UFC debut back in September, but that result was changed to a no contest after he tested positive for marijuana. His suspension will be up by the end of February, when he'll try to end Caceres' three-fight winning streak.
Issued suspension
November 4, 2020
Croom was issued a four-and-a-half month suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission on Wednesday due to marijuana use, reports.
Croom had a dominant win in September when he defeated Roosevelt Roberts via submission (guillotine choke) at 0:31 of Round 1 while also taking home the Performance of the Night bonus. However, he'll now be suspended for a significant period, and he should remain out of contention until at least late March or April.
31-second submission win in debut
September 12, 2020
Croom defeated Roosevelt Roberts via submission (guillotine choke) at 0:31 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
In for Matt Frevola (undisclosed) as a late-notice replacement, Croom put on quite a show in his UFC debut. Croom connected with a big left hand before quickly snatching the neck of Roberts and choking him out. Although Croom is a submission specialist (11 career wins) by trade, there was nothing in his background to suggest this type of massive upset (Croom entered as a +450 underdog) was forthcoming. There's an extreme chance this will go down as the highlight of Croom's UFC run, but at the very least, he'll take home a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his effort Saturday.
Getting debut on short notice
September 11, 2020
Croom will take on Roosevelt Roberts at UFC Vegas 10 on Saturday as a late replacement for Matt Frevola (undisclosed), Mike Heck of reports.
Croom was thought to be the replacement for Giga Chikadze at UFC Vegas 8 but was unable to make it due to reasons out of his control. He didn't have to wait long for another chance, but he figures to be an underdog versus Roberts.
Won't debut after all
August 26, 2020
Croom will no longer be facing Alex Caceres at UFC Vegas 8 this Saturday, Marc Raimondi of reports.
Multiple sources had initially reported Croom would be stepping in for an injured Giga Chikadze (undisclosed), but it turns out that will no longer be the case. UFC matchmakers remain in search of a late-notice replacement to face Caceres at Saturday's event.
