Inks bout with Simon
BantamweightUFC
May 7, 2025
Jourdain will take on Ricky Simon in a bantamweight bout at UFC Atlanta on June 14, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Jourdain snapped a two-bout losing streak, besting Victor Henry in the second round of a fight back in November of 2024. Now, he'll look to stack victories against a fighter in Simon who also just snapped a losing streak of his own. Sitting at a precarious 7-7-1 in the UFC, Jourdain is in dire need of another victory. At 9-6, meanwhile, Simon has a slightly more comfortable standing in the promotion.
Wins bantamweight debut
BantamweightUFC
November 2, 2024
Jourdain defeated Victor Henry via submission (guillotine choke) at 3:43 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Edmonton.
ANALYSIS
Moving down to bantamweight after a long run at featherweight, Jourdain showed well in his first stint at 135 pounds. His speed and quickness carried over to the new weight class and allowed Charles to win virtually all the striking exchanges between the two men. He struggled defensively in terms of defending the takedown, allowing Henry to score two tries in each round, but ever the opportunist on the mat, Jourdain saw an opening and was able to close the show with a beautiful guillotine choke. Moving down a division in the latter stages of a career is typically a cause for concern, but it's important to remember Charles won't be 29 years of age until late November. There should be plenty of gas left in the tank here.

ANALYSIS

Dominated by heavy opponent

Jourdain lost to Jean Silva via KO (punch) at 1:22 of Round 2 at UFC 303 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The highlight of Jourdain's evening was the fact he walked away with 20 percent of Silva's purse after the latter missed weight by 1.5 pounds on Friday morning. Once the bell rang, he was crushed. Jourdain did manage to land 3-of-7 takedown attempts, but wasn't able to do anything with his positional advantage. On the feet, Jourdain was completely overwhelmed, something we rarely see from him. It was the first career knockout defeat for the Canadian in upwards of 25 professional bouts. The loser of back-to-back fights, Jourdain needs a win his next time out to ensure his roster spot is safe.
