Booked for short-notice debut
September 13, 2021
VanCamp will step in on short notice to face Nikolas Motta in a lightweight matchup at UFC Vegas 37 on Saturday, Alexander K. Lee of reports.
VanCamp will get his UFC opportunity following a four-fight winning streak. His last two victories were via first-round submission, including a July matchup against Kenny Gaudreau at welterweight that earned him a championship belt under the banner of B2 Fighting Series. He'll face a fellow 28-year-old who made his way to the UFC via a more traditional route, getting a contract on Dana White's Contender Series last November. VanCamp, on paper, has a height advantage of multiple inches, though oddsmakers list him early as a sizable underdog (+245) for his debut fight.
