The two had initially been scheduled to meet at UFC 272 in Las Vegas, but Potieria was removed from the card, while Negumereanu instead faced Kennedy Nzechukwu and won in a split decision. Inks contract after Round 1 finish
Light HeavyweightUFC
September 29, 2021
Potieria defeated Lucasz Sudolski via TKO (punches) at 3:41 of Round 1 at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of just two fighters to earn an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Entering this bout as roughly a 3-to-1 underdog, it took less than four minutes for the Ukranian prospect to prove oddsmakers wrong. Potieria showed little hesitation against an undefeated opponent and even fought through an early low blow. A right hand sent Sudolski crumbling, and a flurry of shots finished the job. Potieria turned 25 years old in May and will enter the UFC's light heavyweight division with 14 KO/TKO finishes.
