Obliterated in first UFC main event
HeavyweightUFC
July 12, 2025
Teixeira lost to Derrick Lewis via TKO (punches) at 0:35 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Nashville.
ANALYSIS
Oddly enough, Teixeira knocked out Justin Tafa in 35 seconds in his UFC debut in February. That one performance was enough to earn him a main event spot here as a -250 favorite. He actually clipped Lewis in the eye moments after the opening bell rang, but that only served to anger "The Black Beast." Lewis pushed forward winging bombs, and one looping left hook found Teixeira's chin. Referee Jason Herzog gave the Brazilian plenty of time to get his act together before finally stepping in (correctly) when Teixeira used the cage to pull himself back to his feet. The 25-year-old isn't the first top prospect to have his momentum stalled by Lewis, and he won't be the last.

Teixeira is scheduled to compete against Derrick Lewis in a heavyweight fight at UFC Nashville on July 12, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
For his next fight, Teixeira is taking a big step up, considering the heavyweight's next opponent has an above-average pedigree with multiple championship challenges. The former began his UFC career by finishing Justin Tafa in 35 seconds just months ago.
Flawless effort in UFC debut
HeavyweightUFC
February 8, 2025
Teixeira defeated Justin Tafa via TKO (strikes) at 0:35 of Round 1 at UFC 312 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
ANALYSIS
In the grand scheme of things, a win over Tafa means little, but it was a flawless performance from Teixeira in his official UFC debut, and it came on a big stage. He would also take home a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts. Teixeira wisely tried to take Tafa down seconds after the opening bell rang, and while the attempt failed, it allowed the Brazilian to land an elbow along the fence which set off the chain of events that led to the near-immediate stoppage. Teixeira's calling card is obviously his power. He earned his UFC opportunity with a first-round knockout win on Dana White's Contender Series. We'll have to see how he looks against a bit better competition his next time out.

Will debut in UFC 310
HeavyweightUFC
October 15, 2024
Teixeira will make his UFC debut against Lukasz Brzeski in a heavyweight matchup at UFC 310 on Dec. 7, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Teixeira is just 24 years old, and he's massive even for a heavyweight, standing at 6-foot-7 with an 83-inch reach, so he has the physical tools to move quickly in a division that always needs depth. He's yet to taste defeat as a pro in his career, and that streak could continue in his UFC debut, as Brzeski owns a 1-4 mark across his first five UFC bouts.
