Dhiego Lima
Will face McGee at UFC on ESPN 3
March 14, 2019
Lima is booked to take on Court McGee in a welterweight bout at UFC on ESPN 3 on April 27, Alexander K. Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.
Lima was on the verge of being released by the UFC after dropping three straight fights and five of seven overall, but with his back against the wall in December, the Brazil-native came through with victory via first-round knockout over Chad Laprise. Moving forward, Lima may still be facing do-or-die situations with the UFC, with Court "The Crusher" McGee standing in his way next.

Stuns Chad Laprise at UFC 231
December 8, 2018
Lima defeated Chad Laprise via KO (punch) at 1:37 of Round 1 at UFC 231 on Saturday in Toronto.
The UFC probably should have released Lima after his loss to Yushin Okami (his third straight defeat) in April, but they kept him around for some reason and he took advantage of the opportunity on Saturday. Not known for his power, Lima landed a shocking one-punch walk-off on Laprise not long after the opening bell rang. Lima's future remains bleak, but this win ensures he will get another fight with the company.
Traveling to Canada for UFC 231 against Laprise
August 26, 2018
Lima will take on Chad Laprise in a welterweight matchup at UFC 231 in Toronto, Alexander K. Lee of MMAfighting.com reports.
Lima has been in a rough stretch of late with three straight losses and five losses in his last seven bouts, so he'll try to get back on track against Laprise. Overall in his career, the Brazilian is 12-7 and is the two-time TUF runner up. Laprise, meanwhile, is also coming off a loss, to Vicente Luque, but has won three of his last four bouts.
Release seems likely after loss to Yushin Okami
April 14, 2018
Lima lost to Yushin Okami via unanimous decision (26-30, 26-30, 26-30) at UFC on FOX 29 on Saturday in Glendale, Arizona.
It was one of the worst performances that you will ever see and it will almost certainly result in Lima being released. Dhiego landed a mind numbing 11 total strikes over the course of the 15 minute bout. Of course, it's difficult to generate a whole lot of offense when you spend nearly the entire fight plastered to the mat. Lima's second stint with the UFC has gone as poorly as the first.
Will face Yushin Okami at UFC on FOX 29
February 6, 2018
Lima will face Yushin Okami in a welterweight fight at UFC on FOX 29 in Glendale, Arizona on April 14, MMAFighting.com reports.
Lima, who was released from the UFC in 2015, returned to the promotion in July of 2017 but fell via submission to Jesse Taylor in The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale in his first fight back. He'll look to rebound and end his two-fight losing streak as he takes on Okami, though things won't come easy for Lima as the 36-year-old Okami is also looking to re-establish himself in the UFC.
Falls to Jesse Taylor in TUF 25 Finale Friday
July 7, 2017
Lima lost to Jesse Taylor via submission (rear-naked choke) at 0:43 of Round 2 in The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale on Friday in Las Vegas.
Lima had no answer for the grappling and brute strength of Taylor. He was able to score a knockdown early in Round 2, but Taylor immediately took his back and eventually sunk in the RNC that ended the contest. Lima was originally cut from the UFC in May 2015 following back-to-back losses to Tim Means and Li Jingliang. TUF finalists always get a second (or third) opportunity with the company, but there is no reason to be optimistic about Lima moving forward.
