Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos

Seven-fight win streak ends
August 31, 2019
Zaleski dos Santos lost to Li Jingliang via TKO (punches) at 4:51 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Shenzhen, China.
Entering having won seven fights in a row in the UFC's stacked welterweight division, the setback is a crushing blow for the 32-year-old Brazilian. Zaleski dos Santos started slowly. He allowed Li to land some significant shots on the feet in Round 1 before finally returning fire in Round 2. Unfortunately for Zaleski dos Santos, he was popped with a massive combination with about 15 seconds left in the bout and was unable to recover. It was a devastating set of circumstances for a fighter who entered as a (-255) favorite. The Brazilian has a ton of work to do in order to rehab his value.

To fight at UFC Shenzhen
July 10, 2019
Zaleski dos Santos will fight Li Jingliang in a welterweight matchup on August 31 at UFC Shenzhen, Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com reports.
Zaleski dos Santos was slated to fight Neil Magny at a UFC Fight Night card last May, but he was ultimately removed from the lineup. He's still fought more recently than Jingliang, however, as his last fight dates back to March 9, when he emerged victorious against Curtis Millender via first-round submission. That performance marked his third consecutive stoppage and seventh victory in a row. He should merit a higher-ranked opponent, but the UFC could be punishing him for withdrawing from his last fight by sending him overseas to play the villain. Matchup wise, both men have similar striking statistic, though Zaleski dos Santos is regarded as having the better ground game (even if the numbers don't show it). Jingliang's only submission loss came when he was put to sleep against Keita Nakamura in 2015, so Zaleski dos Santos will have his work cut out for him if he wants to earn his fourth professional submission.
No longer on May card
April 3, 2019
Zaleski do Santos is no longer fighting on the UFC Fight Night Card on May 18 against Neil Magny, Joe Youngs of MMAFighting.com reports.
While it was initially reported that Zaleski dos Santos and Magny were set to fight in May, the bout never materialized and Magny moved onto a new opponent. At this time, it's unclear when Zaleski dos Santos will next step in the octagon.
Set for UFC Fight Night in May
March 27, 2019
Zaleski dos Santos has been added to the card for UFC Fight Night on May 18 against Neil Magny.
Fresh off a victory at UFC Fight Night on March 9 against Curtis Millender, the 32-year-old will get right back in the octagon against Magny for his next bout. Zaleski dos Santos has been on a role and attracting attention as of late with seven straight victories with the last three coming via stoppage, but he'll be challenged in his next matchup against Magny, who holds an all-time MMA record of 21-7 and is looking to prove himself after losing his last fight in November against Santiago Ponzinibbio.
Rise up welterweight ranks continues
March 9, 2019
Zaleski dos Santos defeated Curtis Millender via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:35 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Wichita, Kansas.
Easy work. Instead of engaging Millender in the senseless brawl that he was clearly seeking, Zaleski dos Santos immediately dragged his over matched opponent to the mat and dominated on the ground. It was excellent game planning by ZDS and his team and it shows why he is quickly rising up the ranks at 170 pounds. The Brazilian has now won seven fights in a row including three straight via stoppage. The UFC has no choice but to give ZDS a high-level opponent his next time out. He has rolled over everyone put in his path including some with shocking ease. The 32-year-old is legit.
Has fight for UFC Wichita
January 15, 2019
Zaleski dos Santos has been booked for a welterweight bout against Curtis Millender at UFC Wichita on March 9, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
Zaleski will enter the March fight riding a six-fight winning streak, but the 32-year-old has not stepped into the Octagon since his win over Luigi Vendramini at UFC Fight Night 137 in September. He was scheduled to fight Li Jingliang at UFC Beijing in November, but he was forced to withdraw due to a right knee injury. Now, apparently fully recovered, Zaleski will look to extend his winning streak to seven fights.
