Rick Glenn
The Gladiator

Dominant effort following layoff
June 19, 2021
Glenn defeated Joaquim Silva via KO (punches) at 0:37 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
It was a standout performance from Glenn in his first fight in well over two and a half years. All it took to finish Silva was one huge right hand and a couple dozen follow up shots. Glenn, who entered as a +110 underdog, is more than deserving of a Performance of the Night bonus for this effort (though it didn't come to pass on a card full of finishes). Glenn has been a professional since 2006. He's limited from an athletic standpoint, but he's always had underrated power and isn't going to beat himself inside the Octagon. The 32-year-old Iowa native should be back in the cage in short order considering how quickly he dispatched Silva on Saturday.

It remains unclear why Glenn is unable to go. The UFC is actively looking for a replacement to fight Minus.
Matched against Carlton Minus
October 23, 2020
Glenn will face Carlton Minus in Las Vegas on Dec. 19, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Both fighters are coming off losses and have fallen in two of their last three matches. Glenn most recently lost to Kevin Aguilar by unanimous decision in November of 2018. Minus fell by unanimous decision against Matthew Semelsberger in August, his only UFC fight to date.
Shows warrior spirit in loss
November 30, 2018
Glenn lost to Kevin Aguilar via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30 27-30) at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale in Las Vegas on Friday.
Glenn poured the pressure on Aguilar early, and was having success with body kicks until he ate a hard counter that forced him to his back foot. The fight followed a similar formula throughout, with Glenn having pockets of success and Aguilar landing the much harder shots, one of which dropped and almost finished Glenn in the third round. While he is a tough action fighter, Glenn doesn't quite have the power or the skill set to consistently win rounds, which will make his progression difficult. He falls to 21-6-1 as a result of the loss.
Added to TUF Finale
November 5, 2018
Glenn will take on Arnold Allen in a featherweight matchup at the TUF 28 Finale on Nov. 30.
Glenn was added to replace Allen's original opponent, Gilbert Melendez, who is battling an unspecified injury. Glenn has a 21-5 record as a professional, winning three of five fights at the UFC level. Allen's record sits at 13-1, winning his last six fights, including four with the UFC.
