Joaquim Silva
Neto BJJ

Brazil
Next fight booked
Silva will match up against Claudio Puelles at Noche UFC on Sept.13, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva will finally get back into the octagon after pulling out of a scheduled fight in March at UFC Mexico due to undisclosed reasons. The Brazilian lightweight also sports a 2-3 UFC record in his last five matches, so he has plenty to prove against Puelles. With both fighters coming into September with recently inconsistent match results, there will be a lot on the line when they fight in Texas.

Next fight scheduled
Silva is scheduled to compete against Rafa Garcia in a lightweight fight at UFC Mexico on March 29, according to Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN Deportes.
ANALYSIS
Silva may be in hostile territory as he will take on a native Mexican in his home country in late-March. Hostile territory or not, Silva will look to bounce back from a rough 2024 that saw him fight and lose once to Drakkar Klose via unanimous decision.

Inconsistent ways continue
Silva lost to Drakkar Klose via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 301 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
It was a disappointing effort from Silva, who was really never able to get anything going until Klose tired out in Round 3. That said, the Brazilian still had a glorious chance to win this fight. He caught Klose in a deep guillotine and squeezed with all his might, only to have his opponent's head pop out at the last minute. From there, it was clear Silva wouldn't be taking the decision. Silva keeps himself in great shape, but he's now 35 years of age and hasn't won back-to-back fights in seven years. Expect him to hover around the .500 mark moving forward.

Booked for UFC 301
Silva will fight Drakkar Klose at UFC 301 on May 4, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva was able to get back in the win column in his last fight versus Clay Guida. Silva has won two of his last three fights dating back to 2022, but a lack of consistency has plagued him as of late.

Gets right back in win column
Silva defeated Clay Guida via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
ANALYSIS
Silva had no chance in his most recent bout, a knockout loss to Arman Tsarukyan this past June, but he handled his business here against the veteran Guida. This was very much the tale of two fights. Silva got his striking going and looked comfortable in Rounds 1 and 3, while he gave up a pair of takedowns and found himself grounded much of Round 2. It was nice to see Joaquim finish strong given the fact Guida's cardio and energy are legendary. The Brazilian has alternated wins and losses in his past four fights. That's not going to get it done given the fact Silva will be 35 years of age next February.
