Earns contract in opening-fight war
StrawweightUFC
September 10, 2025
Foro defeated Shanell Dyer via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, she was one of five fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Foro stands at just 5-foot-2 with a 61.5-inch reach, but she packs a mean punch, and that was displayed in the opening frame when she dropped Dyer twice and nearly finished the fight. That type of pop from a woman of that stature was enough to draw comparisons to former champion Jessica Andrade from the broadcast team. Foro was unable to fully put Dyer away, however, and the latter was able to hang around to the end, arguably getting stronger as the fight went on. When it was all said and done, Foro led the total significant striking battle by a narrow margin of 117-to-115. She stuffed all 11 of Dyer's takedown attempts along the way. Both women would end up walking away with UFC contracts after the back-and-forth affair.
