Struggles continue in Nashville

Andrade lost to Tatiana Suarez via submission (guillotine choke) at 1:31 of Round 2 at UFC on ESPN 50 on Saturday in Nashville.
ANALYSIS
It's Andrade's third straight loss and the third in a row in which she hasn't been the least bit competitive. Any theoretical edge Jessica may have had in the stand-up was entirely negated by the fact she gave up three takedowns on three Suarez attempts. Andrade knew what was coming, but still couldn't defend it. Set to turn 32 years of age in late September, Jessica should still have plenty of gas left in the tank from a physical perspective, but she needs to pick a weight class and stick with it. She also needs to stop accepting late-notice bouts. Assuming the UFC keeps her around, some time off would seemingly do wonders for Andrade. It has all fallen apart for her in the span of less than six months.

Andrade, who was most recently defeated by Yan Xiaonan at UFC 288, has filled in as a replacement for Virna Jandiroba at UFC Nashville. The 31-year-old fighter will look to bounce back after losing her last two fights.
Crushing UFC 288 defeat

Andrade lost to Yan Xiaonan via KO (punch) at 2:21 of Round 1 at UFC 288 on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey.
ANALYSIS
Andrade's loss to Erin Blanchfield this past February, while concerning, could be explained due to the fact she agreed to fight Blanchfield on just days' notice. There's no excuse whatsoever for this result. Facing an opponent in Yan that didn't have a single knockout victory in her first nine UFC bouts, Jessica was totally reckless in her approach, completely disregarding whatever was potentially coming back her way. She paid for it as a result. Andrade has had durability issues in the past, with four of her previous ten defeats coming via knockout, but this is still a surprising result. Now 31 years of age and fresh off back-to-back crushing defeats, the odds are now overwhelmingly against Andrade making any sort of run again at 115 pounds.

Andrade agreed to fight Yan Xiaonan in a strawweight bout at UFC's May 6 event, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Andrade stepped in on late notice to face Erin Blanchfield in mid-February and lost to snap a three-fight winning streak. Contrarily, Xiaonan's victory over Mackenzie Dern in October ended a run of two consecutive losses.
Drops late-notice main event

Andrade lost to Erin Blanchfield via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:37 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Perhaps Andrade performed poorly because she accepted this fight on such short notice. Perhaps it was because Blanchfield is really, really good. Truth is, it doesn't much matter either way. The end result is a crushing defeat. Andrade was a step behind all night long. She was beaten up on the feet for the vast majority of Round 1 before finding her range a bit in the closing seconds. Jessica stuffed each of Erin's takedown attempts in the opening frame, but the latter powered in for a try early in Round 2 and forced Andrade to the mat before expertly taking her back and choking her out. Andrade has been fighting the best in the world for years and has only lost to top-tier competition. She has the resume to survive this setback, but it's going to take some work and time.
