Struggles in return from injury
O'Neill lost to Jennifer Maia via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 286 on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
Making her return from a torn ACL, O'Neill struggled mightily. She theoretically improved as the fight progressed, but that's a low bar considering how poorly she performed early on. Casey continuously pushed forward in an attempt to control the pace of the bout, but it was Maia who was landing at will. O'Neill managed to gain some momentum in the final few minutes, but she was already so far behind that it was never going to make a difference. The only good news here is that O'Neill appeared to be completely healthy. It's her first professional defeat in her ninth pro bout.

Suffers torn ACL
O'Neill announced via Twitter that she suffered a torn ACL in training last week.
ANALYSIS
O'Neill will miss her scheduled fight in July against Jessica Eye and after surgery likely won't be able to return to the Octagon until early-to-mid 2023. O'Neill had won her first four bouts with the UFC. It's unclear if they will look for a replacement for Eye.
