Struggles continue in Vegas
MiddleweightUFC
March 2, 2024
Ribeiro lost to Christian Leroy Duncan via TKO (strikes) at 1:57 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Riberio's game plan in this fight made absolutely zero sense. Claudio is a one-dimensional brawler, with legitimate power and a questionable gas tank. Instead of trying to push the pace in hopes of getting Duncan out of there, the only chance he had of winning, he sat back and allowed his opponent to pick him apart in a technical kickboxing match. The Brazilian's corner was losing its mind throughout the fight. If that wasn't bad enough, Ribeiro allowed a shockingly easy takedown early in Round 2 before being pounded into defeat by Duncan. Claudio has now lost three of his first four UFC bouts and will likely need a victory his next time out in order to extend his time with the company.

Ribeiro is scheduled to compete against Christian Leroy Duncan in a middleweight fight at UFC Vegas 87 on March 2, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Ribeiro will look to bounce back during 2024. He went 1-2, with each of his fight results being finishes. Ribeiro's next opponent went 2-1, with two finishes and his lone loss being a decision, a fight result the former has yet to achieve a professional win by.
Destroyed by Roman Kopylov
MiddleweightUFC
July 29, 2023
Ribeiro lost to Roman Kopylov via KO (head kick) at 0:33 of Round 2 at UFC 291 on Saturday in Salt Lake City.
ANALYSIS
This fight was as even as you will ever see up until the finish. Both men finished with 32 significant strikes. Both men landed countless damaging blows in Round 1. Unfortunately for Ribeiro, he got blasted with a head kick early in the second frame that landed flush. It was clear as day he was done, but Kopylov got off a follow-up shot before referee Marc Goddard could step in. The sample size is small, but in three UFC bouts (1-2), Ribeiro looks like a power-puncher with limited fight IQ and questionable secondary skills. It's not a package that typically leads to extended success with the company.

May 31, 2023
Ribeiro will fight Roman Kopylov in a middleweight bout at UFC 291 on July 29 in Salt Lake City, according to Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca.
ANALYSIS
Ribeiro will not waste time trying to log a winning streak. Ribeiro will fight three pay-per-views after the one in which he recorded a TKO win over Joseph Holmes. As for Ribeiro's next opponent, Kopylov is 2-2 in the UFC but with a win in each of his last two fights.
Secures first UFC victory

May 6, 2023
Ribeiro defeated Joseph Holmes via TKO (punches) at 3:21 of Round 2 at UFC 288 on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey.
ANALYSIS
It will go down as by far the most lucrative evening of Ribeiro's professional career, as he will not only pick up his show and win bonus, but will also walk away with 20 percent of Holmes' purse after the latter missed weight by three pounds on Friday morning. It took Ribeiro about a round to find his range, but once he did, Holmes was finished. Claudio nearly pounded out his opponent in the final seconds of Round 1, only to see Holmes saved by the bell. He closed the show for good in Round 2 after landing a huge knee and some massive follow-up shots. It was a much-needed bounce-back performance from Ribeiro on the heels of his second-round knockout loss to Abdul Razak Alhassan in his UFC debut this past January.
