No longer with UFC
HeavyweightOther
February 18, 2021
Asker is no longer part of the UFC roster, Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Asker may have gotten the toughest break in the recent string of UFC releases, as the heavyweight is 2-3 with the company, but his losses have came to Jared Cannonier, Walt Harris and Tai Tuivasa. That being said, the 35-year-old hasn't competed since February of 2018, so it's ultimately not too surprising that the two sides did not come to a new agreement.

No-shows loss to Tai Tuivasa Saturday
HeavyweightOther
February 10, 2018
Asker lost to Tai Tuivasa via TKO (strikes) at 2:18 of Round 1 at UFC 221 on Saturday in Perth, Australia.
ANALYSIS
He sure did. Tuivasa looks like a stud and Asker isn't far from being released so you could the writing on the wall before this fight began. Asker had to display next-level toughness just to last 138 seconds. He has now alternated wins in losses in his first five fights with the company and Asker will likely be handed his walking papers if he comes up short his next time out. He is the very definition of roster depth.
Faces Tai Tuivasa at UFC 221
HeavyweightOther
December 18, 2017
Asker will face Tai Tuivasa at UFC 221 in Perth, Australia on Feb. 11, Marc Raimondi of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Asker currently totes an overall record of 9-3 coming into UFC 221, but he's only 2-2 over his last four bouts while facing stiffer competition. Tuivasa is still a bit unproven at 24 years old, but he'll be looking for his seventh consecutive victory after he taps gloves with Asker on Feb. 11.
Gets second UFC victory with Round 2 submission
HeavyweightOther
November 26, 2017
Asker defeated Hu Yaozong via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:27 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night: Shanghai on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Asker came out with an obvious game plan to get the fight to the ground. He was very successful as he landed all four of his takedown attempts against Yaozong. He successfully dealt with a fairly deep standing guillotine from the Chinese heavyweight, and was able to land good ground and pound in both rounds. He landed 91 strikes over the course of the fight, virtually all of which were on the mat. In the second round it was "Silverback's" ground and pound that forced Yaozong to give up his back and ultimately led to the rear-naked choke finish.

ANALYSIS
Asker was originally scheduled to take on James Mulheron for this fight. However, Mulheron was flagged with a potential anti-doping violation and was pulled from the bout. He has been replaced by newcomer and China native Yaozong Hu.
Mulheron out of UFC Shanghai
HeavyweightOther
November 18, 2017
The UFC is seeking a replacement for Asker's fight in Shanghai on November 25 after James Mulheron was flagged for a potential U.S. Anti-Doping Agency violation Saturday, Alexander K. Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mulheron was immediately removed from the card during the midst of this announcement, which will give the UFC only seven days to find a replacement for Asker. It may be difficult to find someone this late in the process, but the promotion is holding out hope that Asker's fight will not go by the wayside. More should be known within the next couple days.
