August 30, 2022
Elkins will take on Jonathan Pearce at the UFC event on Dec. 3, Team Iridium Sports Agency reports.
ANALYSIS
Elkins was able to defeat Tristan Connelly by unanimous decision back in April. It was a nice rebound after being knocked out in December of 2021 by Cub Swanson. Elkins will be looking to jump to above .500 with the UFC when the promotion heads to Orlando in early December.

Elkins defeated Tristan Connelly via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC on ESPN 35 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was an easy win for Elkins and an impressive performance on the heels of his first-round knockout loss at the hands of Cub Swanson last December. Elkins' toughness is legendary, and his grinding style of fighting gave Connelly all sorts of trouble. Darren has evolved into primarily a brawler in the later stages of his career, but he leaned on his wrestling game in this one, connecting on 5-of-10 takedown attempts, good for 7:52 worth of control time. Elkins revealed in his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping that this was the last fight of his UFC contract, and he hopes to return in September. Elkins appeared to be on borrowed time following a four-fight losing streak from July 2018 to May 2020, but he has won three of four since and still has plenty of value, as long as the UFC is careful regarding who they match him up against moving forward. It would be surprising if the two parties couldn't come to terms on a new deal.
Taking on Tristan Connelly
FeatherweightUFC
February 17, 2022
Elkins will fight Tristan Connelly on April 30, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Elkins hasn't had much success lately, winning just two of his last seven fights. He most recently suffered a first-round TKO defeat against Cub Swanson in December. Connelly will also be looking to rebound from a loss, as his unanimous decision loss to Pat Sabatini in April dropped his UFC record to 1-1.
Rare knockout defeat
FeatherweightUFC
December 18, 2021
Elkins lost to Cub Swanson via TKO (wheel kick) at 2:12 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Elkins is known as one of the toughest and most durable men in the history of the sport, but it simply wasn't there today. It started with a right hand from Swanson that sent him crumbling to the mat and ended with a wheel kick which turned Elkins' lights out. Elkins is 37 years old and has been in countless wars over the years, and any time a performance like this pops up, questions about his future durability will be raised. The Indiana native is 2-5 in his past seven fights dating back to July 2018 and is clearly on the back-nine of his storied professional career.
Set for Dec. 18 bout
FeatherweightUFC
September 30, 2021
Elkins will take on Cub Swanson in a featherweight bout at the UFC event Dec. 18, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Elkins will look to follow up his win back in later July over Darrick Minner with a win over Swanson to push his record to 26-9 overall. Swanson last fought back in May when he was destroyed by Giga Chikadze.
Wins fight as only he can

Elkins defeated Darrick Minner via TKO (punches) at 3:48 of Round 2 at UFC on ESPN 27 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Elkins looked to be in serious trouble in Round 1, as Minner seemingly beat him to every position on the mat and landed some serious ground and pound. They don't call him "The Damage" for nothing, though, and one final failed choke attempt by Minner allowed the veteran to get top position. From there, Elkins worked his way to a dominant position and landed big shots on an exhausted opponent. We have seen a triumphant, bloody Elkins strut around the cage more than a few times now and it never gets old. He improves to 26-9 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.
