Still searching for first UFC win
BantamweightUFC
October 2, 2021
Pirrello lost to Douglas Silva de Andrade via KO (punch) at 2:04 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Pirrello's odds of seeing a third UFC bout are rapidly dwindling. On the heels of a submission defeat to Ricky Simon this past January, Pirrello barely lasted two minutes Saturday. He ate a sweeping left hook from Silva de Andrade which sent him sprawling to the canvas, and after a few additional shots, referee Chris Tognoni had correctly seen enough. Little should be expected from Pirrello even if the UFC decides to give him a third opportunity given what we saw from him in his first two tries.

Pirrello will take on Douglas Silva de Andrade in a featherweight bout at the UFC event Oct. 2, Al Zullino of Tapology reports.

Taps to Simon on Fight Island
BantamweightUFC
January 20, 2021
Pirrello lost to Ricky Simon via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 4:00 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Island 8 on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Pirrello did get much offense off in the first, as he was constantly defending the takedowns of Simon and was ultimately taken down on multiple occasions. He managed to land a big knee in the first minute of Round 2, but Simon went right back to the takedown and earned it with ease. It became harder and harder for Pirrello to get back to his feet after repeated takedown efforts, and Simon was ultimately able to get the mount. Simon sunk in the arm-triangle choke shortly thereafter and it was all over. It wasn't an ideal debut, but Pirrello will presumably get another shot against a more manageable opponent after accepting this bout on short notice.

Pirrello will take on Ricky Simon in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Fight Island 7 on Jan. 20, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Pirrello will step in on short notice to make his UFC debut against Simon. Pirrello has won five of his last six MMA fights, most recently defeating Enzo Maria Iezzi via KO (liver shot) at European Beatdown 7 in October of 2019. Simon last fought in May of 2020, defeating Ray Borg via split decision at UFC Jacksonville. Pirrello has a slight advantage in height.
