McGhee fight rescheduled
Bolanos will take on Marcus McGhee in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Vegas 83 on January 13, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
This was a matchup originally scheduled for last August, but Bolanos was forced to withdraw due to undisclosed reasons. McGhee went on to defeat JP Buys as a heavy favorite on that card to improve to 2-0 under the UFC banner and 8-1 as a professional. Bolanos, meanwhile, has yet to fight since his debut victory over Aaron Phillips in April.

Withdraws from McGhee fight
Bolanos will not fight Marcus McGhee at UFC Vegas 78 on Aug. 12, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Bolanos withdrew from fighting McGhee for undisclosed reasons. Fortunately for the latter, he will compete against JP Buys instead of having his bantamweight matchup canceled.

Next fight set
Bolanos is scheduled to face Marcus McGhee in a bantamweight contest at a UFC event on Aug. 12 in Las Vegas, Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bolanos is coming off a victory in his UFC debut against Aaron Phillips via unanimous decision back in mid-April. Now, his next fight with the company is scheduled as he'll look to make it two in a row against a fighter in McGhee that also happens to be coming off a win in his UFC debut.

Victorious in UFC debut
Bolanos defeated Aaron Phillips via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC on ESPN 44 on Saturday in Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Each of Bolanos' first nine professional fights prior to this one came with Bellator. He was inconsistent (6-3) during that stretch, but looked good in this one. Gaston was the much more effective striker, landing 63 total strikes compared to just 17 from Phillips. The lone blemish on Bolanos' evening was the fact he allowed his opponent to land 3-of-5 takedown attempts. He will have to clean that up moving forward. The level of competition Bolanos was facing here must be taken into consideration, but this was a good start to his UFC run.

UFC debut set for April 15
Bolanos agreed to fight Aaron Phillips in a bantamweight bout at UFC's April 15 event, Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN Deportes reports.
ANALYSIS
Bolanos inked a multi-fight pact with the UFC in November after going 6-3 during his time with Bellator, and his first bout in the Octagon is now on the schedule. Phillips hasn't fought since 2020 as he was forced to withdraw from his matchup against Jonathan Martinez in October of 2021 due to an illness. Bolanos has typically fought at 145 pounds but is dropping to 135 for his new promotion.
