A noted high-energy grappler, Malkoun failed on all three of his takedown attempts in the fight and was clearly losing, at which point Petroski essentially handed him the fight after all but knocking himself out after hitting his head on a takedown attempt of his own. Jacob took full advantage, blasting his damaged opponent with a kick before referee Gary Copeland stepped in.
