Ayari was released by the UFC following his loss to Luigi Vendramini in October, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
This wasn't overly surprising, as that loss was his third in a row with the promotion in just four starts. The lightweight will look to improve his 16-6 career MMA record elsewhere.

Ayari lost to Luigi Vendramini via TKO (punches) at 1:12 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Ayari took the center of the Octagon from the start and seemed to be the aggressor despite having a notable length advantage. He was able to land early with kicks and defended a Vendramini takedown attempt, but soon found himself running into fists that proved to be the beginning of the end. He also absorbed a big leg kick where Vendramini connected flush with his shin to Ayari's neck. Ayari has now dropped three fights in a row to fall to 1-3 in the UFC.

ANALYSIS
Ayari will be back in the Octagon for the first time since October of 2018 when he lost to Steven Ray by unanimous decision. Vendramini has also been out of the Octagon since 2018. The October 3 bout will be at lightweight.
Falls in lightweight UFC debut in Moncton

October 27, 2018
Ayari lost to Stevie Ray via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Moncton, New Brunswick.
ANALYSIS
Ayari held his own for stretches of this fight. He landed some slick counters, but he was not really active enough. Ray was able to score with lead strikes and counters. While Ayari landed hard strikes, he simply did not have enough volume to take the decision. It was a close fight, but in the end, the judges did not see it for him. He has now dropped back-to-back fights in the UFC.
Added to UFC Moncton

August 23, 2018
Ayari will take on Stevie Ray in a lightweight matchup at UFC Moncton on Oct. 27.
ANALYSIS
Ayari had previously competed at 170 pounds, so his 15-pound drop down to lightweight will be a cut worth monitoring. However, the move down in weight class does mean he will enter with both height and reach advantages against the more experienced Ray. Both men have similar striking numbers, with the slight edge in terms of defense going to Ayari. Though Ayari has not attempted a takedown in either of his first two UFC fights, he has earned half of his professional victories by way of submission, so we know the ground game is a skill he has yet to show off.
Falls to Darren Till at UFC Fight Night 109

May 28, 2017
Ayari lost to Darren Till via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-27) at UFC Fight Night 109 in Stockholm on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Ayari was more than happy to indulged Till in a striking battle. This might not have been the best strategy. On the feet, Till was one step ahead the entire fight. Ayari could not close the distance without eating a power shot. He had very limited success with his submission game on the floor, but he attempted very few takedowns. After scoring an upset in his UFC debut last September, Ayari was unable duplicate that feat her.
