Johnson defeated Chad Anheliger via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:49 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Johnson make his late-notice UFC debut in August and was submitted by Da'Mon Blackshear in a little less than four minutes. Of course, Blackshear is pretty good, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise Johnson looked far better here against Anheliger with a full training camp under his belt. He easily dominated the striking exchanges between the two men and fared pretty well on the mat despite allowing Chad to connect on 4-of-8 takedown attempts. Now 1-1 in the UFC, it's nearly impossible to find a 6-foot bantamweight, so Johnson's size alone makes him worth keeping an eye on as the calendar pushes towards 2024.

Johnson is set to take on Chad Anheliger at UFC Vegas 82 on Nov. 18, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Johnson was a late-notice addition to UFC on ESPN 51 in August when suffered a Round 1 defeat via submission to Da'Mon Blackshear. The match was his first fight with the company. He will now look to get back on track when he steps into the octagon against Anheliger, who is 1-1 with the company and also looking to bounce back from a loss.
Routed in late-notice UFC debut

Johnson lost to Da'Mon Blackshear via submission (twister) at 3:47 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 51 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a very tough spot for Johnson, making his UFC debut against a quality opponent on very short notice. He defended an early takedown attempt before being tripped to the mat by Blackshear. Johnson never made it back to his feet. It appeared as if he may survive to see the end of the round, but Blackshear clamped on a twister, a move that rarely works at the highest level. It got Johnson out of there, however. The 28-year-old Johnson appeared on Dana White's Contender Series back in September 2020, dropping an unanimous decision to Ronnie Lawrence. He'll get another shot with the company, but little should be expected.

Johnson is set to take on Da'mon Blackshear at UFC Vegas 78 on Saturday, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Johnson will make his UFC debut on extremely late notice, accepting the fight against Blackshear on Monday. The two fighters stand two-inches apart, though Johnson is less experienced than Blackshear, who is 1-1-1 in his UFC career.
