Second straight poor effort

July 18, 2020
Narimani lost to Grant Dawson via unanimous decision (26-30, 27-30, 27-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
The highlight of Narimani's evening was the fact he saw the final bell. He started slowly and it only got worse from there. He was outworked by Dawson in every aspect of the bout. Narimani was scheduled to face Nik Lentz in January before withdrawing due to an undisclosed injury, and it's fair to wonder if he is still a big banged up following this performance. Narimani began his UFC run with a pair of unanimous decision victories over Khalid Taha and Anderson dos Santos, but he was knocked out by Mike Grundy in his most recent bout in March 2019 before Saturday's stinker.

Slated to face Dawson in Abu Dhabi
FeatherweightUFC
June 15, 2020
Narimani (undiclosed) is scheduled to face Grant Dawson in a featherweight bout July 18 in a UFC Fight Night event at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, Farah Hannoun of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Narimani (12-3-0) was most recently slated to fight Nik Lentz at UFC on ESPN+ 24 in January, but he backed out of the bout due to an unspecified injury. Presumably healthy now, Narimani will make the trek to "Fight Island" to take on Dawson (15-1-0) in what will be the former's fourth trip to the Octagon. Narimani owns a 2-1-0 record since making his promotional debut in July 2018.

Narimani won't face Nik Lentz at UFC Raleigh on Jan. 25 after withdrawing due to an injury, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The nature and severity of Narimani's injury are not yet clear. Lentz will now face Arnold Allen, whose original opponent on the same card, Josh Emmett, also withdrew due to injury.

Narimani will face Nik Lentz in a featherweight bout at UFC Raleigh on Jan. 25.
ANALYSIS
Both fighters are coming off individual losses heading into Raleigh. However, Narimani had the better streak previously, winning five straight fights, although only two of those came under the UFC banner.
Outclassed by fellow Brit
FeatherweightUFC
March 16, 2019
Narimani lost to Mike Grundy via TKO (strikes) at 4:42 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night in London on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Narimani never really got into a rhythm in this one. He seemed slow out of the gates and was unable to strike against a debuting fighter in Grundy that wasn't really known for his stand-up game. In fact, this was Grundy's first KO/TKO victory in 12 professional fights. Narimani absorbed a few shots early while letting Grundy control the Octagon, and succumbed to takedown at the end of the first round. The best moment for Narimani in this fight came when he landed in the second round, but Grundy quickly recovered and turned the tables. While Narimani stayed on his feet, Grundy had him backed into the cage and unloaded with his strikes, leaving the referee no choice but to stop the bout. This will be Narimani's first loss in three UFC fights.
Wins comfortable decision Saturday
FeatherweightUFC
November 17, 2018
Narimani defeated Anderson Dos Santos via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night 140 on Saturday in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
ANALYSIS
Naramani took it to the newcomer early Saturday, pressing forward while landing combinations at will on the feet. Dos Santos stayed tough and landed a few big shots of his own but Naramani was able to take the fight to the ground and dominate in top position when things got too hot. Ultimately, Naramani picked up a convincing win but it's worth noting that this is the second consecutive fight in which his advantage on the feet was somewhat overstated. He moves to 12-2 in professional MMA as a result of the victory.
