After being forced to withdraw from their original fight in April, Nascimento and Boser will face off afterall. Taking on Tanner Boser
January 27, 2022
Nascimento will face Tanner Boser on April 23, reports.
Nascimento was handed a six-month suspension in September after testing positive for ritalinic acid, a result which overturned his second-round TKO victory over Alan Baudot, changing it into a no contest. He now owns a 1-1-1 record with the UFC. His opponent, Boser, has also won just one of his last three fights, though that came in his most recent trip to the Octagon, a second-round knockout victory over Ovince St. Preux.
July 17 TKO overturned
September 22, 2021
Nascimento tested positive for ritalinic acid and had his July 17 TKO of Alan Baudot overturned to a no contest, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
In addition to the no contest ruling, Nascimento will receive a six-month suspension and be unable to take the Octagon again until Jan. 17, 2022. That puts his career record back to 8-1 with a 1-1 record in the UFC.
Gets right back in win column
July 17, 2021
Nascimento defeated Alan Baudot via TKO (punches) at 1:29 of Round 2 at UFC on ESPN 26 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Nascimento may have won, but he certainly didn't look the part of a -390 favorite and had to sweat out some hairy moments in Round 1. The tide flipped in Round 2, as the bombs Nascimento failed to land in the opening frame began to hit home. The Brazilian has now gone 2-1 since earning his UFC opportunity with a submission win on Dana White's Contender Series back in July 2019. Both of those previously mentioned wins have come via stoppage, but there's nothing in Nascimento's background to suggest he's anything more than high-end roster depth at this point.
Rescheduled for July
May 7, 2021
Nascimento's heavyweight fight against Alan Baudot has been rescheduled for July 17, Sergio Pineiro of Fighter Path MMA reports.
Nascimento and Baudot were initially slated to fight May 22, but the bout is reportedly being moved do to an injury. It's an injury for Baudot that requires the fight to be pushed back a month.
