Set to take on Caceres
FeatherweightUFC
March 22, 2024
Woodson will face Alex Caceres in a featherweight event at UFC STL on May 11, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Woodson has been on a tear of late, and his recent win over Charles Jourdain via split decision on Jan. 20 extended his undefeated streak to five fights. He'll face a veteran on a good run, as Caceres might be past his prime but has gone 7-2 across his last nine fights. Woodson, a St. Louis native, might be the odds-on favorite given he'll fight in front of his home crowd, though.

Runs unbeaten streak to five
FeatherweightUFC
January 20, 2024
Woodson defeated Charles Jourdain via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC 297 on Saturday in Toronto.
ANALYSIS
The three judges disagreed on each round, but two of the three managed to get to the correct result. It's clear as day Woodson deserved to win this fight. He used his massive length and reach edge to keep Jourdain at distance the entire night. On the four instances in which his opponent attempted a takedown, Woodson remained upright. Sean's striking is impressive. He has quick hands and is gigantic for 145 pounds. The obvious way to beat him is to wrestle him, but Jourdain tried that, and it didn't work. We'll see if Woodson is able to remain upright when he starts facing better competition. The St. Louis native is unbeaten in his past five (4-0, 1NC) fights.

Cruises to win in Nashville
FeatherweightUFC
August 5, 2023
Woodson defeated Dennis Buzukja via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC on ESPN 50 on Saturday in Nashville.
ANALYSIS
Woodson had all sorts of difficulty finding an opponent for the evening. Buzukja finally agreed to step in on very short notice, and Woodson routed him. About the biggest featherweight you will ever see at 6-foot-2, Sean used his massive frame to beat Buzukja up on the feet at distance and then got his wrestling game going, landing 4-of-5 takedowns for 5:52 worth of control time. A product of Dana White's Contender Series, the 31-year-old Woodson is 4-1-1 in his first half-dozen UFC bouts. He should get a bit better opponent his next time out.
