Drops lopsided decision

December 23, 2019
Mokhtarian lost to Seungwoo Choi via unanimous decision (26-29, 26-29, 25-29) at UFC on ESPN+ 23 on Saturday in Busan, South Korea.
ANALYSIS
Mokhtarian was doubled up in the striking department and failed to win a single round, and while he bounced back from significant damage in the second round and came back firing, this fight was never really all that close. He looked the part of a (+290) betting underdog and remains winless in the UFC.

Mokhtarian will take on Seung Woo Choi at UFC Busan December 21, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Mokhtarian was handled quite easily in his UFC debut by Sodiq Yusuff, handing the Australian his first MMA loss. He'll look to rebound against a down-trending Choi (0-2 in his last two, both UFC bouts).
First career loss comes in UFC debut

Mokhtarian lost to Sodiq Yusuff via TKO (punches) at 2:14 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Adelaide, Australia.
ANALYSIS
Mokhtarian's first career loss comes in his UFC debut and in front of many friends and family in his native Australia. The 26-year-old quickly learned that paying zero regard to defense in the world's best fighting organization is a recipe for disaster. Perhaps the stoppage from referee Greg Kleynjans was a tad early, but Mokhtarian was getting tuned up pretty good at the time the bout was called. He'll get another shot with the company.
