ANALYSIS
Previously a three-round fight, the Barboza-Yusuff bout was elevated to five rounds so that it could headline Vegas 81 on short notice. This will mark Yusuff's first five-round bout and card headliner just seven fights into what has turned out to be a great start to his UFC career.

Overwhelms late-notice opponent
Yusuff defeated Don Shainis via submission (guillotine choke) at 0:30 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Yusuff was originally scheduled to fight Giga Chikadze here in what would have been a terrific bout. Yet Giga was forced to withdraw due to undisclosed reasons, leaving us with one of the most lopsided fights we have seen in recent memory. Yusuff grabbed his debuting opponen right after the opening bell rang and unloaded with some vicious knees to the body from the clinch. He then beautifully switched to a guillotine choke which Shainis had no prayer of surviving. Now 6-1 in his first seven UFC bouts, Yusuff needs to be taken seriously at 145 pounds. Perhaps the company will look to re-book the fight between he and Chikadze.

Not competing on Saturday
Yusuff will not fight at the UFC event on Saturday, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
The UFC was unable to find a suitable replacement for Giga Chikadze when he withdrew from this scheduled bout last week. Yusuff was last in the Octagon in March when he beat Alex Caceres by unanimous decision. Expect him to get another fight in the next couple months.
