Scheduled against Petrino
Pedro is scheduled to compete against Vitor Petrino in a light heavyweight fight at UFC Vegas 87 on March 2, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
For Pedro's next fight, he will take on an undefeated Petrino, who is 10-0 in the UFC and went 3-0 in 2023. While that year was not as successful for Pedro, he still finished it with a first-round knockout to Anton Turkalj, carrying some positive momentum in the process.

Strong effort in native Sydney
Pedro defeated Anton Turkalj via KO (punches) at 2:12 of Round 1 at UFC 293 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
ANALYSIS
To give you an idea how inconsistent Pedro has been of late, Turkalj -- who entered with an 0-2 record in the UFC -- went off as roughly a -120 favorite when the opening bell rang. To Tyson's credit, he took full advantage of an inferior opponent, blasting an overmatched Turkalj with power shots and quickly getting him out of there. It was a great win in front of a hot crowd, but the truth of the matter is that it tells us nothing about what to expect from Pedro moving forward, especially considering Turkalj will almost certainly be cut from the company. Tyson is 3-1 since returning from a near 3.5 year layoff in April 2022, but those three victories have come against what is about the lowest competition level the company has to offer (Turkalj, Harry Hunsucker, Ike Villanueva).

No-shows UFC 284 loss
Pedro lost to Modestas Bukauskas via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 284 on Saturday in Perth, Australia.
ANALYSIS
Pedro looked truly awful, displaying zero cardio or explosiveness in a fight he simply had to have. In a fight which lasted the full 15 minutes, Pedro attempted just 90 total strikes, landing 54 of them. He connected on a pair of takedowns, but both came in Round 1. He was simply too tired to wrestle over the course of the final two rounds. Pedro was sidelined from December 2018 to April 2022. He knocked out both Ike Villanueva and Harry Hunsucker upon returning, but was unable to continue the momentum against Bukauskas, an opponent that was released following three-straight losses of his own. Now 31 years of age, Pedro's future is bleak.
