Drops decision in Vegas
BantamweightUFC
February 15, 2025
Morales lost to Elijah Smith via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Considering the youth and athleticism he was giving up to Smith, Morales managed to remain plenty competitive. He worked his way back into the fight in Round 2 following a poor opening frame, but Smith landed a few huge blows in Round 3 of which Vince was unable to match. Now 34 years of age, Morales drops to 3-7 over the course of two stints with the company. He has taken on the role of one of the top coaches at Syndicate MMA, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Morales focus more on that side of the sport moving forward.

Gets another fight in February
BantamweightUFC
December 16, 2024
Morales will take on Elijah Smith in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Vegas 102 on Feb. 15, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Morales was let go by the company back in 2022 following a two-fight losing streak, and his return effort didn't go much better, as he lost a lopsided unanimous decision to Taylor Lapilus. In what now may be the last chance for the 34-year-old to prove he belongs, Morales will now face a debuting fighter in Smith, who got his contract via a decsion victory on Contender Series back in September.
Routed in return to UFC

Morales lost to Taylor Lapilus via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
Sporting a 3-5 record in eight career UFC bouts and having not competed for the promotion since November 2022, Morales inked a new contract with the company within the past week. He was then shipped over to France to take on a legitimately talented opponent in Lapilus and predictably struggled. Morales did land two takedowns, but that was never going to be enough considering he found himself on the short end of a 94-39 count in terms of total strikes landed. The new contract suggests the UFC will give Morales at least one more fight, but little should be expected beyond that.
Re-signed, fights this weekend
BantamweightUFC
September 24, 2024
Morales has been re-signed by the UFC and will take on Taylor Lapilus in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Paris on Saturday, according to Team Iridium Sports Agency via X.
ANALYSIS
Morales accumulated a 3-5 record with the UFC from 2018 to 2022 but exited the promotion on a two-fight losing streak, both of which were decisions in which he just couldn't seem to let his hands go. Since then, Morales has accumulated five consecutive wins (four finishes) on various regional scenes, so the company decided to give him another shot. That will come in the form of Lapilus, who hwas won three of his last four and seen six of his seven UFC appearances go to the judges.
Doesn't do enough to win
BantamweightUFC
November 19, 2022
Morales lost to Miles Johns via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Vegas 65 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The less said about this fight, the better, as both men were stuck in mirror mode, waiting for the other to throw. Morales showcased a nice jab and split Johns' lip with a right hook at the end of Round 1, but without consistent offense to sway the judges, the fight was awarded to the (slightly) more active wrestler who controlled the center of the Octagon. The tragedy here is Morales is a solid wrestle-boxer with some nice footwork, but he will never succeed at this level if he doesn't learn to let his hands go. He falls to 11-7-0 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.
New opponent for UFC Vegas 65

Morales will now fight Miles Johns at UFC Vegas 65 on Nov. 19 after Jose Johnson (undisclosed) withdrew, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Coming off a loss to Jonathan Martinez via unanimous decision in his last fight, Morales will now match up against Johns, who will be fighting for the first time since being suspended for six months in April.
