The fiery crash in Bahrain might have been the last time in a Formula One car for Grosjean as the Haas F1 driver revealed Sunday morning that he will miss the season finale at Abu Dhabi, NBC Sports reports.

Grosjean had hoped to make his way back for the Abu Dhabi season finale, but his injuries will keep him sidelined to close the season. He posted a video to his social media Sunday announcing that Pietro Fittipaldi will remain in his car after subbing for him at Bahrain Sunday. Grosjean continues to heal and recover from the burns he sustained two weekends ago and will return home to Switzerland to continue his recovery.
