Tanner Gray

David Gilliland Racing
2021 Fantasy Outlook
His rookie season in 2020 was no disappointment at all. Gray scrambled to four Top-5 and eight Top-10 finishes during last season. It all added up to a respectable 14th-place effort in the championship points. It might have been better had the young driver been able to attain any consistency. However, that was his one major weakness. DGR welcomes Gray back for another season in 2021. He'll once again be partnered with crew chief Shane Wilson and the two will look to discover that consistency that was missing from last season. It seems that David Gilliland Racing has a lot of expectations for Gray, and they're really looking to grow him as well as this race team in the upcoming season. Read Past Outlooks
Returning to DGR
Gander Outdoors Truck
December 2, 2021
David Gilliland Racing will expand to three full-time trucks for the 2022 Camping World Truck Series season. In mid-November, the team announced Gray would return to the team for the 2022 season with veteran crew chief Jerry Baxter, Dustin Albino of Jayski reports.
Gray collected just two Top-10 finishes last season, which was a step back from the performance he had in 2020. However, he had no consistency at the crew chief position as he has six different crew chiefs throughout the season. DGR will look to team Gray with Baxter for the full campaign in 2022, and look for better performance as a result.

2020 Fantasy Outlook
Tyler Ankrum achieved a great deal in this truck last season. He piloted the team's full-time entry to one win and eight Top-10 finishes in a very successful rookie campaign. Ankrum is now gone, and departed for GMS Racing in 2020. DGR Crosley has put youngster Gray in this team for the upcoming season. He will be paired with veteran crew chief, Shane Wilson, for a full season run in the truck series. Gray made just three starts for DGR Crosley in 2019 and earned three Top-20 finishes in those efforts. He was far more impressive in his K&N Pro Series East and West starts last season, earning one victory and 12 Top-10 finishes in 15 combined starts. Gray is on the fast track development path, but he still lacks a lot of seat time in trucks.
