Ty Dillon departs this race team to return full-time to the Cup Series in 2025. Youngster Sutton will now take over the driving duties of the No. 26 Chevrolet truck. At just 19-years-old he doesn't have a lot of experience, but Sutton did make seven starts in a part-time schedule last season earning one Top-10 and five Top-20 finishes with this same race team. The team was impressed and decided to give Dawson the full slate in the upcoming season with assistance coming from veteran crew chief, Chad Kendrick. Dawson will need to hit the ground running and try to build momentum early in this very competitive division of NASCAR. Read Past Outlooks
Sutton will drive the No. 25 truck for Rackley W.A.R. for the remainder of the 2024 season in the Truck Series, Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS Sutton will take over the No. 25 truck from Ty Dillon, who will serve as a driver mentor to the young 18-year-old. Sutton is the son of Curtis Sutton, who is the co-owner of the team. Sutton drove a second entry for Rackley W.A.R. at North Wilkesboro and Nashville earlier this season and finished 28th and 18th, respectively. There's a decent chance Sutton ends up driving full-time in this ride in 2025.
