Ayoze Perez Injury: Suffers new muscular problem

Perez didn't play in Saturday's 2-1 win over Osasuna due to a muscular strain and doesn't have a timetable to return to action, Javi Mata of Diario AS reports.

Losing Perez for any stretch is huge for Villarreal since the striker was the team's top scorer in 2024/25, although Georges Mikautadze has done a good job filling in for him. Villarreal's manager, Marcelino, didn't provide a timeline for Perez's return, but with the team playing four matches over the next two weeks, he might be sidelined until the October international break.
