Sessegnon (undisclosed) participated in training Thursday and could be in contention to play against Brighton on Saturday, manager Marco Silva told media during his pre-match press conference Thursday. "About [Ryan] Sessegnon, he came off in the last pre-season game against Eintracht. Nothing serious, as I mentioned at the end of the match, it was a bit of a precaution from him. He felt something, and with his story in terms of injuries and all that stuff, I think he took the right decision. And today, in the morning, he was involved in the session. Let's see how he's going to react, and after we are going to take the decision for the game as well."

It seems Sessegnon didn't suffer a serious injury based on Silva's words. The fact that he was able to train with no issues after exiting the friendly against Frankfurt a few days ago puts him in a good spot to be part of the squad for the season opener Saturday. Sessegnon made 16 appearances (seven starts) for The Cottagers in the 2024/25 season, tallying four goals and two assists.
