Heads back to Trabzonspor
Mendy has returned to Trabzonspor after Sevilla opted not to activate the purchase option in his loan agreement, the club announced.
ANALYSIS
Batista Mendy joined Sevilla on a season-long loan from Trabzonspor in September 2025, making 28 appearances during the 2025-26 campaign. The French defensive midfielder was unable to make a strong enough impression to convince Sevilla to trigger the purchase option, and he now returns to Trabzonspor, where he is contracted until June 2027. The 26-year-old came through the youth ranks at Nantes before spells at Angers and Trabzonspor, and his next move remains to be seen with both a stay at the Turkish club and potential transfer offers reportedly on the table.
