van Hecke arrives at Tottenham after an ever-present, highly productive 2025/26 with Brighton, where he started all 36 Premier League games and piled up a career high 189 clearances, 53 tackles and 47 interceptions along with three goals and three assists. That is an excellent fantasy line for a center back, combining elite defensive volume with the odd attacking return, and it earned him both the move and a place in the Netherlands squad. Their Round of 32 exit brings him back from the World Cup early. The question is how quickly he settles into new manager Roberto De Zerbi's back line and whether he starts every week at a new club. Replicate that Brighton workload and he is one of the better value defenders in the game, but until his Spurs role is confirmed treat the projection with a little caution. The underlying numbers make him well worth targeting.
