Solis made 18 appearances during his loan spell in the second half of the season, scoring his first goal in the 2-1 victory over Bristol City in April and quickly establishing himself as an important figure in coach Chris Davies' squad as Birmingham secured their highest league finish in a decade, ending the campaign 10th in the Championship. The 21-year-old Colombian midfielder is known for his ball-winning ability and technical quality, and his adaptation to Championship football during the loan period made the permanent move a natural outcome. Solis began his career at Atletico Nacional, where he won the Apertura in 2022 and the Superliga in 2023, before joining Girona in September 2023 and going on to make 61 appearances including Champions League outings against Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Arsenal. His combination of top-level European experience and Championship knowledge gives Birmingham a versatile and technically accomplished option in the center of the park heading into next season.
