Matt Grimes

Grimes captained Coventry through their promotion and was an ever-present, starting all 46 Championship games in 2025/26 as their deep-lying midfield metronome. The headline for fantasy is his set-piece volume, with 285 crosses and 147 corners showing he takes most of the dead balls, even if his direct return was modest at two goals and two assists. The Premier League is a clear step up, and a player whose value is built on distribution and set pieces rather than goals can find numbers harder to come by against better sides. He should remain a nailed-on starter under Frank Lampard, which gives him a steady floor of minutes. He is best viewed as a cheap source of chances created and peripheral stats, with most of his appeal in formats that reward set-piece involvement.
