Monreal brings offensive versatility to a side that could use him on either flank in place of Diego Lainez or Diego Sanchez, or as a No. 9, where they currently lack depth behind Rodrigo Aguirre. The 25-year-old registered 12 goals and 15 assists over 124 Liga MX appearances (66 starts) for Rayos throughout the last eight years, a period in which he also attracted attention as a Mexican youth international, including his participation in the 2024 Maurice Revello tournament. Despite his proven quality, Monreal is not expected to hold a significant edge over players like Lainez and Sanchez, and he could initially see minutes as a rotational player.
