Rodrygo endured a frustrating, marginalized 2025/26, slipping down the Real Madrid pecking order to just six La Liga starts and one goal across 19 appearances, a steep fall from the 22 starts and six goals he managed the season before. The talent is obvious and at his best he is a match-winner on the wing, but a crowded, star-studded attack squeezed his minutes and the goals dried up. Two big variables hang over him, namely a new manager in Jose Mourinho taking charge for 2026/27 and his ACL injury that will keep him out of the picture until 2027, at least. For fantasy, he is a high-risk, high-reward name to monitor rather than draft with confidence, with real upside if he wins back a regular role when returning from injury, but too much uncertainty to rely on for now.
