Zobnin started as a holding midfielder alongside Yuri Gazinskiy, playing the full 90 minutes. He found Denis Cheryshev with a square ball on the back post as Russia had an odd-man counter attack. Cheryshev did the rest, beating two Saudi defenders and the firing the ball into the roof of the net at the near post. Russia's emphatic win should help keep Zobnin in the starting XI when they face Russia on June 19.
